Hey everyone-

I just joined up; my name's Corey. I'm a 2LT in the Army, and I'm currently stationed down in Ft. Benning, GA. I've got some time on my hands this summer and fall, and I just started building a Walnut/Redwood OM kit. Been thinking about it for a while (girlfriend gave me Cumpiano's book for Valentine's a couple of years back), and I'm excited/anxious/nervous about getting started. It should be a fun ride--I'm glad to have the OLF as a reference!

Get ready to have some fun and we are glad you are here.

And, most of all, thank you for your service and sacrifice for our country!

Welcome, Corey, my salute as well. I was a 2LT once, long ago. Don't get much respect, do you? And they said you'd be an officer and a gentleman. Good luck on your build

I, myself, am Reynaldo Kragenbrink! I am the lost brother of Lance Kragenbrink!

Many years ago when we were 16 we had a horrible disagreement, Lance would insist on build guitars...filthy, filthy instruments...while I has more insistant in building jumbo 6 string ukelele's!

The arguments, even to blows were more than I could bear. I ran away from home and joined the Moldavian navy. This was a very hard life considering Moldavia doesn't even have a navy which I recently found out, yes my whole life for nothing!

Do you remember me Brother!

It's me... Reny!

Can you forgive your poor Brother!

:D

Hi Reynaldo and welcome to the OLF.

You must have some great stories you could tell us about when you and Lance were growing up. :)

Welcome, John! Yep, now is the time to make a pile of mistakes, and learn how to fix them. Just chalk up the first to experience, 'cause there WILL be another one, and another one, and.....

Welcome, John, to OLF! Billy's right, for once! :D You can learn the art of mistakes here at OLF without shame. We all make a lot of them, and someone helps us find a way to work around them, and come up with successes beyond our imaginations. What a great place. Don't be ashamed to show your errors. Someone will have made it before, and know the solution. You may not like the solution, but it will be there.

Hello, my name is Jamal Hamka.

I am 27 years old and Until recently I was a semi professional tinkerer, building anything I could out of my garage.
I have spent my entire life trying to figure out what I was going to do with it, and finally on January 1st of 08 I opened the doors to my professional tinkering shop located in canton, mi.

I now specialize in everything from drawing blueprints, to building houses, furniture, cars, Bars, and now guitars. I started building guitars in august of 07 with the help of a chunk of brazzillian rosewood, 2 books, and a girlfriend who understands my need to tinker. ;) I am currently building guitar #5, and am looking forward to learning some new techniques. :D
