Here's a small guitar I just finished. It's based on the Stella body measurements that John How posted a few months ago, but I used an "X" brace rather than ladder bracing. I'm giving this one to a friend so he can teach his young daughters how to play, so I went small and a little overbuilt expecting that it would have a fairly hard life. 22.875 scale 12 fret neck with mediums tuned up to standard E = super easy to play. First time I've done a cut away. Wasn't planning on one, but my bender had other ideas... In retrospect, it was probably the way to go. Volume and tone are surprising. More bass than you would expect from such a small body, although it is biased toward mids, and much more volume. I just took it to guitar center to get a case and the guy helping me asked to play it. Of course he played it with a really heavy hand and my initial reaction was to take a step back because I was a little startled by the volume. I'm going to miss this one.

Sitka top from Joe H here at the OLF
Sapele B&S and neck
Spalted Sycamore rosette
Pear backstrap
EIR for everthing else

Unbuffed Tru Oil over Zpoxy for ease of repair.

Thanks for looking.

Great job Bob my friend and I really like that cut-away too! [:Y:] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap]

That last shot with the other guitar really puts the size of this one in perspective.

Nice job!

Cute??? Puppies are cute! ;)
I agree though...very nice! I am curious as to what happened that you had to do a cutaway with out planning for it.

Thanks guys. David, I had bent the side and was letting it cool down in the form when it cracked between the headblock and the upper bout - all the way across the side. Runout I guess, first time I've had that happen. Luckily I hadn't trimmed the sides to exact length before bending so I was able to use the excess to make a proper cut out.

Hi Bob, that's a beauty. Good work. Nice choices of woods, and the rosette is great. [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap]

At first i must admit i didn't like the cutaway, but now after i have warmed up to it looks fitting.
Great looking little guitar.
It's one of the nicer parlor shapes i've seen, i usually find parlors a little strange looking, but this one looks right [:Y:] .

Soundclip?

Thanks for all the positive feedback. No soundclips, but I'll try to get my buddy to record something. Delivery this weekend, hopefully pics of happy new owners to follow.
