Anyone out there ever tried this waterbased finish on a guitar? See the information here

It looks too good to be true. And the scariest part is there is no price on their website!

I would love to hear if anyone has tried this stuff. Thanks!
Tracy

Oh, I can't wait to see Mario chime in on this one! Yee-hah! Pianolac rears it's ugly head again!

Hey Mario, repeat after me....

"Snake Oil...."

Tracy,

Mario and I would humbly suggest you give the guy a call and ask him what his product is. Ask him if it's a urethane, or an acrylic, or generally what it is. Then see if you can actually get him to sell you a quart of the stuff. We tried, and he wouldn't tell us what it was, and to this day, we don't know one single luthier who was actually able to buy any from him.

Snake Oil....

Don,
Thanks for the heads up. I won't put too much hope in getting any of it, but it will be a fun challenge to see if I get some from him. I'll keep you posted. Thanks!

I call this guy every year and get the same story as you did.
He tells me the that it is too soft for guitars and that he is formulating a harder version for guitars.
Says he will call me when it is ready, but never does
His piano repair shop is actually 10 minutes down the road from me in Pawling NY.
