and now for the REST of the story...............
I got everything repaired, and started finishing the guitar. I got my final coat of polyester on it today (BIG learning curve to that stuff) and had it hanging in the shop to cure overnight before the final sanding and buffing.
The wife is now working with me full time since she got laid off due to a drop in enrollment in the Christian school she has worked at. She came in the shop tonight to talk over a phone call she had just had..... stood up... and knocked the guitar off of the hook it was hanging on. It was hanging on a strap from the ceiling of the shop...Gave her a bump on the head on the way down to the floor, and then hit the floor and made a long crack in the side of the guitar..
Her head is ok, but she was in tears over the event of damaging the guitar. I got it glued back together (thanks to those that have shared crack repair tips on this forum!) and we are on our way back to getting this guitar out the door again. Of course I will let the customer know that there has been a repair on the instrument and will probably loose some money on the deal, but I'll be glad to see this one out the door.
Sometimes I wonder if guitars just dont want to leave my shop
