hello fellow OLFers,

just back from a great western canada vacation (sorry Rod, simply ran out of time), and I got the chance to play and check out this guitar, as well as one of my own made back in 04, still in one piece too (knowing the owner and how he plays, thats saying something) !!!!

My nephew took the pic on his iPhone, so excuse the blur, but all in all you should be able to make a stab at it.

So, here we go .... tub'o'lard to the winer, and an extra special tub'o'back bacon fat (hey pork fat RULES, ask Emeril) to the person who can name the guitar - yes it has a name. Clue is in the pic itself. Nuff said.

It's pretty cool the way that this builder is able to terminate the strings in the sound hole and then have them magically reappear a few inches away........ :D

Hey Tony, to bad it didn't work out for us to hang out while you were on the Left Coast.

I won't say who that guitar is by as Tony told me who he was visiting while here. That might be a good hint too.

yes, hesh, its called the black box effect laughing6-hehe ... I think what was under there would have given it away ....

And D A are not the builder's initials .... maybe someone elses though idunno

The name of the guitar has to do with the rosette area and what it represents .... oops_sign

There's an old hair style called the "D-A", but I don't see any ducks in the rosette.

I dunno. I believe I've seen it before about a year ago.... the image becomes clear when you put the soundhole cutout back in. (hope he keeps it in the accessories part of the case)

Do tell, I'm so wanting to know [headinwall]

Looks like not a lot of takers here .... so ....

its a Chris Jenkins, from texas. Owner is my friend and Karol owner, Don Alder - hence the DA in the pic title Hesh. It also has an adjustable neck, and plays and sounds really great. Don is pretty hard on guitars though, the top on this one is cracked by the neck idunno , but its still all there as far as playability and tone (his Karol is dinged up too wow7-eyes - on the side edge by the binding, lower bout, bottom edge - he whacked it into a door frame leaving as stage a couple years ago - brazillian - OUCH

Don won the Winfield fingerstyle this year [clap] .. heck of a player. We had him out for a couple hours over dinner last Friday out west at my relatives in North Vancouver ... peoples jaws dropped (especially my nephew's) watching him play.

Tony,
Do you have access to the rest of the "picture"? Meaning the cutout?

Well, i know he's a heck of a player as you say, and won the winfield last year, i don't know if he's so good that you can announce him as winner a month before the contest... ...
Do you know if he's entering this year?

Frank
