hi Colin
as stated above, a lovely sweet sounding wee guitar and a nice autumn hew in the colour scheme.
Oh the Talisker loosened up yer fingers just enough and those trebles are singing over the well defined mids and bass, first class.
yours Geordie

Looks good to me! Unfortunately I don't have any sound on this computer, but I'm taking you guy's word for it: good playing on a good sounding guitar, Colin! ;)

Colin lovely guitar and I very much enjoyed the soundclip.....your playing did the 18 year old Talisker proud. I've never been a fan of redwood top guitars -- this one sounds superb...bright yet mellow at the same time. Is this the first soundport guitar you've done? I don't recall seeing others of yours with this feature.

Anthony, no I've done a number with soundports, it's a feature of all my steel strings now.

Colin

Colin my friend this is yet another beautiful guitar from you!

I really like the look of the Redwood top with the Cuban Mahogany and she sounds fantastic too!

Great job as always! [:Y:] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap]

Thanks Colin,
Ok so this begs another question. Does your fretboard extention lay flat on the surface of the guitars top?
Or is there a micro space. I have really been contemplating a full bolt on neck but I am having a hard
time figuring out how to attach it with out any change in the fretboard plane.....

Lance with a 1.5deg neck angle and the 25' radius I find that with a very slight bit of sanding on the top it lays flat. If you go very close you might see a slight gap near the soundhole but it would be in the order of a couple of thou I can't get a piece of typing paper into any gap. When I used to glue the extension down to the top, I only put a glue joint down the centre, to allow for differential expansion of the top and board, the gap I see now is no more than it was then.

Here's a (bad) picture, It's pretty dark here now so I had to use flash, but I think you'll get the idea.

If I put a straight edge on the frets with the neck off of the guitar, then again when it's bolted on, nothing changes. You can take the neck on and off without having to adjust anything. The extension of the neck that the FB is glued to is a continuation of the neck wood, not a piece fitted on after.

That is great! I am going to do something of the sort. I just love the ability to remove the neck.

Thanks again!

Gawd, look at the deliciousness of that top...are you sure you didn't soak the wood in Talisker?

I think I'm gonna pass out...
