I'm building a thickness sander that uses a 4" diameter by 9" length expandable rubber sanding drum. The supplier (Freeman Mfg. and Supply) where I found the drums doesn't have the sleeves in stock and it takes 30 days for them to receive them and probably another 2 weeks for me to receive them after they ship them to me in Brazil. Does someone know a supplier for these that might have them today ??!!

Hey Lance,

Don't you just get a good feeling when someone posts a link to a commercial site and somebody else in the OLF family is helped?

I love this forum!

My pleasure, and I agree with Don. I have found several excellent sources
of supply through this and other non-restrictive forums.

Have them send the invoice seperate or you will end up paying the Brazilian government their 60% tax.

Thanks Robbie..I've learned about the ridiculous import taxes already. Unsolicited gift or sample is also helpful in the declaration. Since Lula was elected the prices on things here have almost tripled !!

Hey Jeff,
I tried to register at your site, but it won't take the form for some reason...

At least Lula didn't take 80% of the money out of circulation likle Collor did in the 80's. I, as well as many others, lost a lot of money with that one. You just gotta roll with it. (jogo de cintura, da um jeito, danca conforme a musica) are a few expressions that come to mind.

Taking money out of circulation in the '80's was an attempt to reel in inflation which was so bad you could lose 80% of the value of your money in a month.

Yep, if you're gonna dance it has to be to whatever band is on stage at the time. Lula has certainly blown a whole lot of popularity since he was elected though.

Back on topic just a little, importing has always been a painful issue in Brazil. It's not new. At one time, if there were a Brazilian product equivalent to the one you were trying to import there, it cost 100% duty.
