Just sharing a little of what I did this weekend.

I managed to get the Carpathian Acacia Dread closed up. Hoping to get the purfs and bindings down this week, Then I get to move on two the neck, in which I'm pretty excited as I get to inlay a Waymann vine down the fretboard. Should be fun!

Thanks for looking -
btw this will be a 12 fretter/slot head with gold Waverly's, snake wood buttons.

Really nice, Lance. I'd love to see the rosette a little closer.

Thanks Guys!
Really nice, Lance. I'd love to see the rosette a little closer.
Kelby, here is the rosette, its Red abalone heart bordered by b/w/b(flamed maple)b/w/b also pictured are the b/w/b(FM)b/w/b purflings that will adorn the top along with snakewood bindings.
BobC custom made these purflings for me, and used some seriously tasty Zoot for the flamed maple centers!

Very nice work Lance

Is it hard bending that maple sandwich into a circle? Looks like it would be.

I gotcha. I like the fact that you sane the rosette free. Keeps things tidy.

Those arrows on the top I am betting are to help you remember which way insures a climbing cut. Yes? No?

Those arrows are my paranoia showing! I candle the tops and trace the bridge patch and X brace on the top, then lay it all out, making sure the bridge pin holes fall in the correct location in relation to the patch and braces. Measure twice cut

Lance,

I really like how you always seem to come up with wood and color combinations that are warm, flashy and elegant, all at the same time!

That's going to be nice, Lance.    Is there any reason for building the box before the neck? I can't see that it would matter.

Ron
