I am planning tomake a Snakewood bridge and got this crazy idea swirling around in my head to make it from a laminated approach using Snakewood top with some other wood for the bottom. For example, if I glued up a piece of snakewood to a piece of brazilian.

Any problem taking this approach vs. solid bridge?

None! Its a good idea actually as Snakewood is very brittle and subject to blowout if your using a router to shape your bridge.

Snakewood is weird wood, sometimes it's as hard as a rock and others it just splits on it's own. I would be hesitant to laminate it just because of the force thats' on the bridge, other more stable woods I would do without problem but I'd be concerned about snakewood.

I just finished one with a snakewood bridge and it's pretty but I'm worried that within two years it will be back in the shop... Snakewood has a mind of it's own, it's good for binding and the stuff from Brad is good for fingerboards, I'm not %100 sure about bridges yet though, only time will tell...
