Since there's not much traffic in this Kit Building room, I'll add my kit building efforts and maybe, other kit builders will jump in and we can generate some interest.
I'm currently building a 00-21ish 12 fret from a kit I got from Blues Creek guitars. The body is all koa. The fingerboard, peghead overlay, bridge, and binding will be ebony with some black and white purflings. Here the box is closed up and ready for routing for the bindings.

This is my 4th guitar build and I've made at least 50 banjos. I've built two guitars from scratch and one other kit. I'm building this on my patio of my 5th wheel trailer in Harlingen, Texas. We're here getting away from the Minnesota winter. Now I'm taking a couple of days off from the kit to make a binding routing machine from the LMII plans.

More to come!

Nice guitar, Dan. While in Kauai a couple of years ago I promised myself that I'd build a koa guitar someday. Not only is it a beautiful wood, I've played and heard a few that I thought sounded fantastic.

Here's the latest look of my Koa 00. I cut the binding rabbets with my new binding router tower and installed the binding and purfling. I glued the fingerboard this morning. I did some sanding on the body and wet the top to raise the grain. It looked so good I wanted a photo of it. The neck is lightly bolted on and the bridge is just laying on the top. But this should be what it will look like when it's done. I'm happy with the look.

Boy that top really pops!
And it's funny, I've got a very old parlor I bought off ebay with no name on it, and it has a single star on the slot-head just like yours. I've never been able to trace it down to who built it. Have I finally stumbled upon the builder? laughing6-hehe

I didn't build your parlor guitar. All the guitars that I have built are still in the family.

OK. here it is finished, strung up and playable. Sounds good the first day, so it should get better with a bunch of playing. Thanks to John Hall for a great kit.
