It's been completed for a while now and I was going to design a quality photo setup but time has just marched on. Nevertheless, the record pics will have to suffice for now.

This is a twin brother to a Cherry and Sitka model (#4) that I'll post when I have time. They were built at the same time and are 2 completely different sounds. It was quite an education.

Here are the specs:
-Parlor Style...Scott Antes design with a larger soundhole and slightly deeper body
-Redwood Top...Don Williams
-Walnut B&S...Zootman
-Bloodwood bindings, Headstock & BS...Zootman
-Abalam Rosette and Purfling
-Mahogany neck with M/BW/M laminate
-HHG on all body joints
-Adirondack Spruce bracing
-Epoxy on FB to neck
-KTM-9 finish over Zpoxy & shellac

How wide is that paua purfling, may be the body size but it looks wider than .06, like maybe .13 Sweet looking guitar

Michael...The Abalm is .098" on the rosette and .063" on the purfling.

Don...I love the top...you must have pulled one from your private stash by mistake!

The sound...Well, when I first strung both of them up I was somewhat disappointed. I believe I was so used to the bigger sound of my 000-12 fret that I couldn't appreciate the parlors for what they are. After a month of playing them, I have a much better sensitivity and actually like both. The redwood is brighter and the sitka is bassier. I am most pleased with the playability of both. When my brother arrived from Dallas to pick up his Sitka/Cherry he was blown away by the sound that it has. He actually preferred the sound to my larger 000-12...go figure. I have a real hard time describing sound...you'll just have to pay a visit and play it sometime!

Looks great JJ. What are your thoughts on spraying as opposed to brushing on KMT-9?

Roy...Spraying was so much easier. I only tried the comparison to avoid the gun maintenance hassle. It turned out to be much more of a hassle to do the extra sanding caused by uneven brush coats. And the gun maintenance with KTM-9 was nothing. From now on I spray.

Thanks JJ, I was debating whether it would be worth trying to brush one but I think I will stay with spraying.
