I saw this in the main forum (credit to Nelson Guitars) and thought it should not be lost as the question comes up a lot. Also, Harbor Freight carries inexpensive vacuum pumps. I hope to build one of these soon, and if any of you use the ideas below, please comment on your projects (tips, tricks, etc)

There is a lot of information there.
Do you have any problem of braces moving around as you draw the vacuum?
