Hey all
This is my first build I finished earlier this year
Body and neck, Brazillian mahagany, fretboard, ebony, cap and headstock, lacewood
Gotoh hardware and pickups were made by a friend, Mick Brierley

My first electric (only one so far) made as part of a challenge on another forum to see what we could do for under $100. This one came in around $70-$75.

-Curly Cherry top on a chambered pine core. VERY thin body...very light guitar!
-Experimental doubled-single coil pickup. (two singles in series acting as one pickup with serious strong magnets)
-Reclaimed the neck form an old Strat...stripped the paint to find a wonderful grain pattern! Maple I think?
-The homemade bridge, electronics mount/riser (remember...very thin body) and pickup housing are all purple heart rescued from an old pallet.
-Teak Oil finish all around.

It sounds great! Bit of a buzz...need to do some serious shielding...but plays like a dream.

Here is my favorite for now.

Mahogany w/ Walnut top and spotted Ebony fretboard .It also has custom wound Wolfetone pickups and a big round neck.

WOW...some really creative entries since I last looked. This thread has been better than some of the coffee table books I have when looking for design inspiration.

I may have another entry one of these days as well now that you guys have shown some great work.

I like them so much I put them in another guitar.
Truth is, Wolfe is a buddy of mine and he makes a fine pickup.
He will try to wind what I ask him to. If he does not nail it he will try again.
How is that for customer service?
I highly recommend his work along with Dimarzio, Duncan,Fralin, Lollar and TV Jones.

WOW!!! This has to be the most spectacular fingerboard I've ever seen! Incredible!

Thanks for the kind words! More pics available if you just surf to the pic's subdirectory, if you care. And yes, inlay's hand-cut. Silver wire for the vine, abalone for the leaves, river pearl (less flashy than white MOP) for the sleeping lady, gold MOP for the hair, and my first time engraving anything. Lots of fun. Got to play it again recently, and it's holding up well and getting played daily. I'm also up for a new big inlay challenge, although I prefer to see inlay on other people's guitars; mine tend to have side dots and a logo at 12th.

Seems like a bit of an odd place for a pickup selector switch, but hell, I like it.

Wonderful finish, great body shape, nice job!

God playing that would annoy me to no end.
How are you supposed to switch pickups in the middle of the song
like that?

Anyways, its a nice build. A little bit on the thick side.

Heh. Look through the other posts on this page, and you'll notice that maybe 70% of all set neck electrics posted have a selector switch that's roughly in that position. it's where I put mine as well, because I don't like hitting it by mistake mid-song, and it doesn't take much to flick it in said position.

I can be thrown off easily...

I really wish I had the talent you guys have at making such
awesome guitars.

Another newbie to the forums. Here's one of my recent builds #8 The Lady. A black limba body and neck, semi-hollow bubinga top electric. Ebony accents (back of head, knobs, bridge plate, coverplate, FB, and tailpiece). Duncan Jazz Humbuckers with LR Baggs Piezo. Great balance, incredible tonal options, really pleased with the ebony fretboard on limba, such a great combo. Plus a really nice Bubinga top with matching headstock, all natural no stain. This Lady sings!
