My #3 I made for my wife. I figured if I made her one, then she won't complain about all the LMI boxes coming to the house. Anyway, it consists of:
Top is Carter redwood-LMI
B&S is IRW-LMI
Neck is mahog-Menards
Madagascar Ebony fretboad with abalone and bloodwood inlay
IRW binding w/basswood lam
rosette is premade russian-LMI

And my #4 I made in the last 3 weeks. It's my camping/travel guitar.
It consists of:
top is Engelmann Spruce-LMI
Back is Ovankol-LMI
Sides are Mahog-LMI
Binding is Curly Sycamore
neck Mahog-Menards
Madagascar Ebony with pearl dots fretboard, binded in Curly Sycamore
The soundhole rosette was made from a maple stick my son handed me last year. He's 4. He said "Daddy, you can made a guitar with my stick if you want." So I did, I sliced off segments on a slight bias and used them in the ring. We went camping this last week so It got some use. I just finished it the night before we left. We had a nice campfire thursday night. My drunkin inlaws.

Excellent work! I love the maple stick rosette on the second one. You are a good daddy to find a way to incorporate that [:Y:] Cool soundhole design too.

The redwood is looking quite nice as well. I like the fretboard inlay. What kind of finish is that on it?

number 3 has a bunch of coats of clear laquer and 2 coats of tru-oil. Number 4 just has 2 coats of laquer. I might do some more work on the shape of the neck and sand it all down again. I can see some glue around the neck and a few spots around the binding.

That is the coolest most campfire ing guitar. Way to use the stick, looks so perfect around the bear claw. Good job, very original and pleasing,
Rob

Very nice. Now just one point of caution. If you go to a french polish finish, Leinenkugel is not an adequate substitute for denatured alc or Everclear.

Thanks for the comments. I thought about putting some sort of a light inside the box to light it up at nite. Maybe on the next one.

Anyone ever put a light inside a guitar? I think it would be kewl to light up a soundhole on a guitar around a campfire.

Another point of caution. Drunkin inlaws will not be good for French Polish.
