Don, and Bill,(Simplyhere)
Great EYE CANDY spot in the guitar guitar maker mag!
And DON HAS THE COVER!!!

That guitar is every bit as beautiful in person as in the pictures show, maybe moreso!

Other olfers mentioned, John Hall, and Craig Holden, maybe more - ive not finished reading it at the time of this post --

Cngratulations, Don and Bill. Well deserved.

I always feel proud to have such famous friends...even though in Don's case, he's a retired old fart!

Hey.....I ain't THAT old!

Thanks folks...it was quite a shock to me. I had some insight as to the cover, but had no clue about the photos inside. Thanks Bill!

JJ, there's a small chance I might see you in Buffalo at the Zootman's over the Thanksgiving weekend...my wife and I may be out that way.

Geez Don
That went from "I'm on the way" to a "slight chance" awful quick. Bobc38661.4012962963

Zootman!

It did not! It was always a "maybe" thing. It's going to depend on if I can get the following Monday off from work for traveling. I can't drive too well late into the night because I fall asleep too easily, and I don't see well at night. If it's dark and raining, I'm in trouble...

Great going guys, I'm waiting for my copy anxiously.

BTY, Don, I can't hardly drive at night anymore either. I also am beginning to think, there are toooo many young whippersnappers coming to this forum.      Maybe it should be limited to those born before 1970.

Just kidding Don
I have the same driving problems especially at nite. I'm still hoping you can make it.

Hey Old Man 1970? That's still a young whippersnapper Bobc38661.5201388889

Congratulations, Don. Beautiful design on the instruments. Well deserved and a great compliment to the binding jig article.

Congrats to you, Don! That is a noce lookin' guitar there..I wish they had a full shot of the body so I could see the shape a bit better.
One other thing is funny- they spelled "Ovation" wrong right on the cover. <BG>
It was probably on-purpose.

Don...I'll be in Buffalo on Saturday, Nov. 26 for my second annual Zoot aroma therapy. That would be soooo cool to meet you. See if you can swing it.

You got that right, Mr. Zoot. I picked 1970 because of Darin's post above mine. I looked at his profile and he was born in 1970. Actually, anyone born after 1950 is a young whippersnapper.

Way to go Don, that's some beautiful work.
And John Hall and the Brazilian. Pretty. Isn't it great that we get exclusive rights to all their knowledge here at the OLF. (Well, maybe not exclusive. Who knows, maybe they've been abducted by aliens, had their brains probed, and then had chips installed so that they could build guitars like that!) Could happen, maybe.

Craig's article on his fretboard radiussing jig was excellent, and it was great to see that stunning beauty of a guitar that John Hall built.
The OLF was well-represented. The OLF had their nice add in there, and the Zootman's add was opposite the pictures of Bill Greene's guitar.
By the way....Bill (SimplyHere)finally broke down and ordered a kit to build his first guitar...a mahogany dread. Go get 'em Bill!

I haven't seen the issue yet, but I've handled both guitars. Don showed me his at ASIA before it was strung up. I loved that Brazilian fingerboard and headstock shape. I was at John's house one day and his guitar looks and sounds great. Even the rib braces were pearl inlaid. Great work guys!

Lotsa love goes into our guitars, and it's what makes us luthiers a special breed.
