A while back I posted about a Taylor guitar that came into the shop for repair. Someone asked to give an update on the repair when I was done. I contacted the Taylor factory and they were nice enough to ship me out the rosewood bindings and the purflings strips used in the construction of this model guitar.
Here are some shots of the before and after for those who are interested.

Thanks for the compliments folks. This thing came in pretty busted up. It had considerable internal damage to the kerfing as well in the impact area.
Michael I did consider replacing all of the bindings but since Taylor only sent me one bindings and it got broken in shipping I was limited. I would have had to replace the binding up into the cutaway area too. It also would have required more finishing work on the guitar. The binding is really not as noticeable as it is in the pics. I had the flash on and it tends to be a bit more noticeable.
Bruce, I will pass on the ovation repair. haha
Now I can get back to building again

Nice work Robbie! Say, how was the Taylor finish to work with? I have heard horror stories when guys had to work back into it with laquer and what not....

I just went over the top with a catalyzed urethane. No adhesion problems at all.
