My daughter called me yesterday and said my grand daughter is taking guitar and drum lessons, and is loving them both. She asked me how much I would charge her to build Allison (my grand daughter) a guitar. I about choked! I said I would not charge her anything. She's my daughted for goodness sake.
Anyway, hese are a couple of shots of the back I put together today. It will be an SJ. The Koa I got for $70.00 on e-bay, and the top will be bearclaw WRC I got from Shane at High Mountain. Hope you enjoy them.

Walter,
She's 13 years old. I started when I was 10, so I have grand hopes for her. Time will tell, and I will keep posting the progress.

Steve,
I have 4 or 5 strips of the BRW left, and I was considering them. But they are pretty brittle, and without much figure. I still got a lot of decisions to make about this one. I want it to be special for her.

Looks nice Doug. A guitar made by her grand dad, you are giving her something that is priceless. I hope she sticks with it, and if she is interested at this age, most likely she will.

Doug - enjoy the process, My first two guitars were build for my two girls, Leanna and Emily - although what im building these days is far nicer, these first two will always be special.
They were built with a purpose.

I understand that completely, Lance. It will probably be my most memorable, no matter how it turns out.
