Any body Pls tell me what is the roll of PLC in CNC machines? thanks in advance forsharing

Adam not all cnc controller have or use plc's. A plc stands for program logic controller and it can be programmed in several different methods. I have no direct experience using one, but I did a lot of research some time back when looking for a new controller. There are some controllers that have built in or on board plc's.

A plc could easily be used to control a tool changer, a pallet changer, even a 4th axis as long as all axis interpolation was not needed. It could control a materials delivery system to the machine, dust control, coolant control, safty curtain, etc. Keep in mind though, that many of these same functions can be controlled with the control using g and m codes.

I believe that PLC's were used more in the past to act as an interface between mechanical relays, motor starters etc.
As Mike mentions, they can be used to control about anything and todays PLC's are much smarter than back in the day.
The VFD's (Variable Frequency Drives) used to power spindles have what I would consider a built-in PLC. They can accept digital as well as analog input, I believe, and are certainly programmable.
