I've not installed an armrest before but have general ideas of how it might be done (theory). Not finding anything on the web on the subject except a lot of very nice finished examples. I'm assuming that the kerfing in those areas are replaced with larger, pre-shaped, exotic woods - and then you radius the exterior as desired to expose the wood beneath. Can anyone shed some light on the basics? How much effect does this have on tone?
