Yup, that's the one I was talking about. Did you come about your design independently? Great luthier minds think alike.

Aaacckkk!
Update on the build.
Been working on a weiss style build too, but getting in some time here and there.
Let's see, got it bound, fb on, "bat" tailpiece inlayed, made brass nut, blah-blah-blah.
Not looking forward to routing a 3/16" x 2 1/2" slot for the brass saddle in the body,
after all this work so far.
Yikes!!!!!!!
Thanks for looking.

That looks awesome, Alan! Really coming together nicely. I can't wait to see you hit it with some finish. That top is gonna explode. How do you plan on finishing it?

Thanks Gabby.
I'm going with a polyuethane finish, why?, because I have some.
Also, I like the hard finish to protect the redwood.
And, I like the yellow color it will add.
I don't want it to be too shiny either.
Shiny guitars make me nervous.
Anyway, I slotted for the 3/16" saddle, and can anybody tell me how,
for the love of Mary, you get a 5/32" groove, using a 3/16" bit?
Looks like I'll be doing some hand work to make that slot the right size.
It just goes on and on....
and on.................

Persevere. It'll be worth it in the end. That's a unique instrument.
I'm with Gabby. That top's gonna look awesome under finish! I think the binding's gonna be sweet as well. Can't wait to see it completed.

Got more shtuff done.
Fixed the saddle slot, made the saddle, it's going in about a half inch into the body.
Going to epoxy it in there.
Built 3 templates, one for pups, which I just purchased yesterday,
and one template for the component cavity, and one for the cavity cover.
I have a cutoff from the walnut for the cavity cover.
Gotta sand the templates a bit.
Had to go to the market to buy some food, so the build is on hold till....

See you in a month or so.
Routed everything out,
and going to drill a few holes, then sand finish-sand-finish.
You know the drill.
