For fun, Kyle and I are about to build a guitar along the lines of the Taylor GS Mini or the Martin LX1 "Little Martin" (and others).

We have a shape and scale length in mind - but since we've not put saw to wood yet - we thought we might check into what we can find for cases for these type guitars. If there is a case out there that is close - and we need to adjust our plan a little bit - that might be a possibility.

I checked out Cedar Creek - and didn't see anything close to the size. We really don't want to have to resort to a custom built Ameritage case for all builds of this guitar.

Here's the specs

Neck Scale: 23.5"
Upper Bout: 10"
Waist: 8"
Lower Bout: 13.75"
Body Length: 17.25"
Overall Length: 36.5"

And here's what we have for a shape so far:

Cedar Creek (TKL) will do custom cases for $200. Check the website.

Hey Paul,

From the Ameritage price list I received, it looks like you could get a Silver Line case with Custom fitted "Interior" for less than $200. I'm not sure how close it has to fit before they add the custom fitting inside, but it might be worth an email to Nancy.

Cool design BTW [:Y:]

All the Best,
Dan

Dont think its a stock TKL case, but my supplier up here in Canada had the factory that makes the TKLs (again, up here in Canada) make one that fits Martin 0 - thats about the right sze ...

Another vote for Cedar Creek. Call Dennis, he'll give you a quote for a custom if they don't have anything stock. You might be surprised how reasonable they are. They do a custom for my size 2's.

I called Cedar Creek recently and was told that Dennis no longer works there :(

That's great news. Maybe I'll do business with them again.

Hmmm.... odd post. Me thinks there's a story in there somewhere. I'll call Cedar Creek and see if someone can help me with what I need.

This reminded me that I had wanted to have a case made for my guitars. I just called Cedar Creek and spoke with Stephanie. She was very nice and it seems like a simple process.

Strange, Dennis was great with me and several clients of mine that needed custom cases.

I'll add that Cedar Creek has built cases for 2 long scale small bodied twelve strings and a funky wood bodied tricone - they fit perfectly, are very well made, are somewhat expensive (but worth it) and are heavy. Their deliveries have been quite long - as soon as I get the white guitar assembled where I can trace it and do all the measurements (and there are a bunch) I send it to them and start the process.

Dennis had handled several of these and did a good job for me, but service has been equally good since he left.
