Is there a reason you want(need)super hard maple?
Most of the OLF suppliers can sell you well cut and usable Maple.

Not sure where you live, but Berenguer's Furniture in Wolcott, NY generally has some nice curly hard maple boards. You would have to resaw them yourself. Also has some nice curly cherry and curly yellow birch.

Gilmer has some nice sets in Birdseye. Even better is the Euro Maple sets, but that's a different subject.

Thanks, all. Mike, I saw a video a year ago about two builders who were doing blues oriented L-00's, ladder braced. They swore by the stuff. I'm going to undertake one of these for a friend.
