Hi all! another question prompted by the beginnings of my lutherie jorney, if you have the patience.

pretty much what´s in the title, i´ve given up on finding straight grained walnut for guitar necks arround my hometown (nobody is cutting them, as it seams), but i can not find them in the internets either.

any help is much appreciated.

This eBay seller has several walnut neck blanks listed right now. He's a good guy as well.

I just picked up a peruvian walnut neck blank from LMI. I believe they called it 2nd grade, but thats just because a bit of variation in color. Grain is perfectly straight. I don't remember, but they may have had first grade as well.

You could probably get some from one of our members, mcgr40. He has very nice black walnut. He had a walnut neck for sell in the classifieds but that one may be sold.
