I would like to find celluloid tortoise sheets, but not the cheezy pixelated
type Martin uses, nor the salami looking ones, something more like the '50
and '60 Martin & Guild pickguards, as an alternative to the expensive and
sometimes overbearing Tortis material. The tortoise bindings Martin sells
are nice, any idea where to find sheets of this? Any idea what suppliers
would carry that? I'd love to find also a source for the kind of large
herringbone purflings Stefan Sobell uses, he calls that "crow foot" I think
(see pic of one of his rosettes). Thanks!

Try contacting Mike Hanson at Turtle Works
mrhanson [at] indiana (dot)edu

He manufactures the Tortis product and is the supplier for most resellers. I think he sells sheets too.
