I deliver this one next weekend assuming I get a couple of new pots and get my volume issues figured out. We finally had a break in the rain yesterday so I shot a few pictures. The tele is based on a '72 dual humbucker. The person I made it for loves the tele body shape but wanted a fat dual humbucker sound, so I suggested we model the '72. Body is ash with quilted maple top. Neck is birdseye maple with zircote fingerboard. Despite the semi-hollow design This one still turned out a bit on the heavy side. The burst was hand rubbed then final perimeter tinting was done with my gun. Top coats are EM6000. Either my camera or my monitor isn't doing a good job capturing the green in the guitar. The center of the guitar is much more green than shown in the pictures on my screen.

I don't have any other electrics on the horizon right now. The next several builds will all be acoustics.

Thanks for looking!

Ken

That is one of the nicest blue bursts I've seen from an independent builder. I am also impressed with the smoothness of that clear coat. I would buy that guitar!

Thanks Guys! Jimmy, you're too kind! I love blue bursts too! Always said I would have one some day...maybe someday! I do love doing bursts, though. I have a huge billet of figured maple, so I do need to build some more.

Ken

Absolutely beautiful.
I like everything I see, wish I could see the back and would love
to play it.

Here you be! The back I made intentionally darker. Took these indoors and played with the temperature settings on my camera until I got the burst showing the right colors. The maple and other items have the color off, but what you see in the burst pictures is how the burst looks in person.

Thank you.

It is amazing. Absolutely beautiful.
I'd be so proud to be able to build a guitar
like that...I'd probably be like Fred lifting off the ground
with his feet a flappin'. [:Y:]
