I'm NOT a fan of Pit, BUT I know Crosby is the "face" of the NHL, a great player and very young. Its tough to see something like a head injury jeopardize his career.

Hopefully he can shake it and be back. The League will be better for it.

Head injuries are killing the league. The Bruins have pretty much lost their best center - Marc Savard because of a severe concussion. He tried to come back, but another one last year seems to have ended his career. It would be sad to see Crosby done...he's a great player.

There were three more NHL'ers down with concussions today. With the size and skill level of todays players, and their' lack of respect for each other, I don't think the situation is going to get better quickly. Even a hard check with no contact to the head can make your brain slosh around in your skull. They might have to put the center red line back in play or enlarge the ice surface to slow play down.

It turns out that he had a concussion AND an injury to the "soft tissue" (in his C1 and C2 vertebrae IIRC) which can also cause concussion-like symptoms including the balance issues and headaches that Sid's been having. He had a one-time injection to the neck to help the pressure subside. While there's still no timeline to when he'll return the local rumor is that he'll be back by the playoffs. In the meantime he's still putting a lot of time in practicing on the ice. Last week during the road trip he filled in on the 4th line during practice but for now he's practicing on his own.
