Hey all,

A new member, looking to introduce myself. I searched out this forum and spent a few days reading a tonne of great information and reviewing some great build projects before becoming a member. So thanks to everyone for sharing their ideas and projects. This looks like a great forum and community to be part of and I hope to contribute.

I would describe myself as a complete ametur builder living in Toronto, Canada. My desire to build guitars has started from basic repair and rebuilds and smaller projects but I am looking to continue to progress.

My very first project was saving this Kramer Baretta that I found on CL and picked up for only $125.

After a new paint job, cleaning, refinishing and change of the PU (put in an EVH Wolfgang):

I next progressed to building a partscaster from purchased parts from various suppliers. I am a huge EVH fan and could not resist building a Frankenstrat replica!

The inspiration for my last project was the Charvel Natural Series guitars. I broke out my router and built this body out of Tuna Mahogany from scratch and finished with a light coat of Tung Oil. I found the whole project extremely rewarding and this guitar rocks! I put an Evolution in the neck and BareKnuckles Black Dog in the bridge. Great PU selections that I would recommend for anyone looking for classic/hard rock. I still did not feel confident enough with my skill or have the right tools to make my own neck, so I continued to have the neck made to order from Musikraft.

I am hoping to pick up more skills from this forum and continue to progress with my skill to create some maple top / mahogany back bodies and start to make my own necks as well.

Many Thanks,

Radiohead

Welcome!
Great pics, what is your next project?
Note it is a tradition at OLF to share at least your first name.

Cheers!
