Nice dot pattern virgil. Personally I think I might prefer if the two on the twelfth fret were in a line, but maybe that's just me...

On the thickness of the fretboard:
If you have blanks thicker than normal of a wood that you know will help the tone, you might want to have the board thick and the neck thin. The fretboard has a lot to do with the tone.

The long standing practice of (Brazillian) rosewood fretboards (and acoustic bridges) is really an ingenious way of getting the maximum tone benefit for the least amount of expensive wood.
Paul Reed Smith likes rosewood necks.
I was very happy with a neck I built with an ebony board 3/8 of an inch thick with a thin neck underneath it.
