Now if I could find another use for the chopper other than a laxitive when the turbo kicks in.

Great work on the guitar. Love the veneer press too! I have a 1964 and a half mustang shaped tool in my garage but I have not found a second use for it other than draining my pockets.

Thanks Tony, I know what you mean about the affect toys can have on pockets.

Today we got a belly cut. Start with one big bandsaw, add a holding fixture and follow the template. It may be a bit of overkill but there is a lot less sawdust to clean up afterwards.

After that I drilled some holes and routed a control cavity.

So there we are. Just a few minor things left before finishing. I'm re-thinking the black and am now leaning towards root beer or a dark metalic ?? Any thoughts? I will keep the burst to show off the neck.

I don't have much experience with root beer as a stain, does it go on pretty even?

After work today I went to the shop and glued the neck in. Then it was routing for the pickups, drilling for wires and the bridge. All that's left is drill tuner holes and final sanding for finish.
Looks like this now.

As promised are the destruction photos. Kind of anticlimactic since that body hung around a week longer than it should have, but it served it's purpose and has now met it's demise. I lost my hachet but have a good supply of hammers so the Fat Max destructo beast was called into action.

Watching paint dry. Then we'll do some cat-urethane.

Finally got around to completing this one. The finish is fair at best, the cat-urethane has a bit of a learning curve to it as do all finishes. I almost had the same problem Filippo did with not enough neck angle, just squeaked by getting the action right at 3 degrees. I'll have to remember that for next time. Overall it is a presentable prototype. Now It will be passed around like the cheap floozie it is to get some feedback from the guys.
