For the curious... and at Evan's suggestion. Here is a general idea of what the pick guard would look like on it.

Brock, that is sweet lookin. You might want to think about hanging on to that baby for a bit -- or if you sell it make sure you negotiate visitation rights. Normally I don't like pickguards other than clear -- but -- I'm torn looking at your latest picture.

P.S. Can hardly wait to see the Madonna.

That is just beautiful! I'd love to have it. Another vote for the pickguard.

Nice work, Brock.

Hi Brock,
I love the pickguard shape, and the color was what I had envisioned. 1 more vote for pickguard.
Evan

Just to be contrarian, I vote NO pickguard. Colour's nice, shape's a so-so match, and I much prefer the clean look without it.

But again, y'know, I don't much like pickguards ;-)

Stunning guitar, Brock. Bravo. I usually do not like sunburst finishes or clown barf pickguards, but you've made a guitar where both look great. I was going to vote for the clear pickguard (or none), but that tortis one really does look nice on there.

How does it sound?
Resistance if futile, give in to the darkside Mattia, and together... oh, nevermind.
Umm...you're mixing things up a bit here aren't you?

....and you left out the "you will be assimilated" part.

After seeing the pic I vote for the tortis pickguard. But it is truly a sweet looking guitar with or without it. BTW, how does she sound?

That's just sinfully beautiful. Clean as a whistle. Beautiful wood, beautiful
finish, and a great shape. The SJ size makes a wonderfully versatile guitar.
I like it with the pick guard, as it doesn't hide anything vital. The color is
in keeping with the overall coloring and you have to keep in mind the
practical aspects. After all, it would be ashame to have such a beauty
looking like Willy Nelson's piece of garbage in 5 years or so.

Brock, I admit when I'm wrong...(at least, I think I do...it's never happened before... ), but the tortis looks great!

Thanks.

Regarding the sound. Overall I like it. It seems very clear and there is good string seperation. I got to hear a very good player do his thing on it while I watched /listened.

It doesn't have that WHOMP in the bass that some guitars have. It is much more balanced. I think it is a little better suited to finger picking rather than strumming but overall I am very pleased.

Extremely lovely looking guitar. Brock, you should pat yourself on the back. I love the finish especially as you can see the photographer's reflection in it. Keep up the great work of building guitars and helping the forum be the best. Great stuff.
