Hello all. I was wondering if anyone knew if the bearings sold for the LMI binding channel router bit set would fit on the Stew-Mac router bit? Maybe someone could put the old micrometer to the bearings (LMI) and check for thickness and aparture dimensions.
The reason I'm asking (for the curious) is that I buy exclusively from LMI now since I don't have to pay duties on their products here in Canada...
   Thanks in advance.

I do not know for sure but typicaly the pilot bearing shank of most bits are the same dia. So I would think that they would but if call StewMac and LMI they would be happy to tell you the diamater of the bearing shank, I bet.MichaelP38729.4992824074

I'm pretty sure they do not fit. I have the LMI set, and the school where I TA has the Stew-Mac set. I can check next week if you remind me. I'm about 99% sure they do not fit each other. I know the rabbet set that I sell fits the LMI bearings. I'm all out of these sets, and not sure if I'll ever get them again.

They will not fit. Also the bits themselves are not the same diameter.

I must stand corrected here after doing sone reasurch. I guess I have been just plan lucky. I have the LMI binding bit and several other differing dia. piloted bits from more than one manufacturer. I think most are P.C. bits and the bearings from my LMI bit set fits all of them. I do not have the Stewmac bit. As I said I guess I have bee just dumb luck
