Paid members of the OLF also get an ASIA membership. Has this ASIA membership take effect? I just got a reminder from ASIA to renew may membership but I don't think that that means I haven't already renewed. How do I find out. I was supposed to get Acoustic Guitar magazine and I haven't received any issues yet. That is part of the ASIA membership, so I'm wondering if the ASIA membership actually happened.

I got the same letter and replied to it. I also haven't received an issue of Acoustic Guitar since joining up. I was receiving them already and now they have stopped. Anyone else receiving theirs?

Ok, folks. No need to panic.

The letter from Bill went to EVERYONE ASIA has ever had as a member. It is part of a large membership drive. If you look at the text of it it says:

For those of you who've been joining one year at a time, it's time to renew your membership in ASIA, and, those of you who took two year memberships in 2004 are due as well. You lifetime members need do nothing but accept our profound thanks for your continued support!

Everyone who signed up on the OLF deal is an ASIA member through the end of 2006. I saw to that personally. So you are 100% covered.

Regarding the AG subscriptions. I posted about this a while back as well.

According to Dan Gabel (who we did this deal with) the AG subs will begin sometime in February. Again, everyone who has participated in the OLF subscription is included in this so no need to worry.

It has taken ASIA longer to work out the mechanics of the AG deal than originally anticipated. Questions emerged about "how do we handle international subscriptions", "who gets credit for the renewals", etc. This is one of these situations where the devil is in the details. Nobody thought it would take this long to get up and running, but the end result is everybody who participated will get a full year's subscription.

Brock, that seems a little strange to me because I have been getting two copies of AG and I assumed one was due to my ASIA membership. One is addressed to John How and the other to John How Guitars. Go figure....

Nothing surprises me in the magazine world. I signed up for a few mags on one of the discount internet sites a few months back, and in addition to what I bought I started receiving Maxim, FHM, and Stuff as well.

Brock

I figured that my ASIA membership was only good for 2005 with the OLF deal, so I renewed when I got Bill's letter.

Did I just pay for 2006 when I didn't need to? If so what should I do now?

Josh

I now work with Bill as an apprentice. I know he is working very hard on and for ASIA. He is aware of some of the issues and along with Brock, who is also working very hard on these issues, plus OLF to get things done and done right. Bill is probably the busiest guy I have seen. He does full time building and doing same amount of time and effort needed with ASIA. I know one thing he gives it 100% and will make it right whatever he has to do. I know anything that may be of concern will be taken care of by Bill and Brock. They don't need me to say anything, but just thought would offer my prespective and $.02 for what it is worth. Just hang in folks it is being done by two great and hard workers who want the best for ASIA and this forum That should and does include Lance 100% also.
