I also have a car where I can charge my phone. Besides, Costa Guitarsville has its own power plant so I should be fine.

Given that I've lost about a month working other non-guitar projects or being out of town, I'm all for it. I'd be willing to go through Christmas since I usually have a fair amount of free time during the holidays.

I'm fine with extending the deadline. Even though my chances of winning are much better if 80% of the participants are knocked out!

I'm in the dog days of finishing right now. I finally got the white oak filled and will start French Polishing tonight. I won't have a problem finishing by the end of the month.

On the one hand rules are rules pfft

But on the other I don't care either way, it will just give me a chance to play the guitar in for a few weeks and bring out that sweet tone [:Y:]

Of course any of our North East friends should be given a brake if they are digging out from Sandy.

I haven't had a chance to work on mine for a while, so I'm way behind (like, waaay behind). It will be close, but if can free up some time during this month, I'm pretty sure I can finish. Probably, maybe.

Get a shop coffee pot and get to work, no sleep for you :)

Getting up early to work is good but I found the other morning that chisels can be dangerous at 5:30 AM. :?

Oh, I'd love to, but I'm heading down to Vienna to look at some old buildings and whatnot, speak broken German, eat lots of Sachertorte and basically just fart around with a bunch architects colleagues for a few days (and get paid for it). I'd rather to be in the shop, with some strong coffee and sharp chisels, but some of us have to work for a living, you know--its a hard life. ;)

Its going to be close for me. I think I could get it put together, but the finish job might not be as good as I would like. I've been dealing with some health problems. I just got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes on wednesday. Another month would be great. I'm fine with it either way. Rules are rules.

Yep, I recall that. I, for one, would be happy to give those who finish in November some kind of bonus when the final points are tallied up. I would just like to be able to finish a challenge, for once. Too many interruptions, like today I spent 9 hours prepping for finish; unfortunately it is for epoxy coating a floor [xx(]

Ditto....I'll be done building my instrument this week, then have to film/record it being played properly sometime in the weeks following, but I see no reason not to extend the deadline to include those who got interrupted by the storm. It would seem a shame to exclude them from the finale due to circumstances beyond their control.

Hey all,
Sorry I've not been keeping up here, but I've been away from home for a week, and only had access to the web for a few minutes at a Chic-fil-a. My grandfather died Thursday (in Arkansas), and my uncle died last Saturday the 27th (in Michigan), so it's just been crazy... And my grandpas wife is in Hospice, expected to pass within 10 days. When it rains, it pours, eh?

I'm totally ok with extending the deadline, because of the extenuating circumstances, i.e., hurricane Sandy. So, you all now have until December 31st to complete your projects, and voting will begin Jan 1st. I'll edit the rules thread to reflect this.

Indeed, sorry to hear all that. It is freaky how often people go down 3 in a row. Condolences to you and your family.
