Tony, I think you are going to have a hard time getting anyone to care about your ukulele!

It's been established that nobody cares about Tony's uke, everybody cheered when he punched it in the face. beehive

Tony, I think you are going to have a hard time getting anyone to care about your ukulele!

I just saw my mistake. I meant to say, "It's going to be hard to get people to care about my ukulele, but not this guitar."

How did my autocorrect screw up so badly?

Its because you have it set for " autoscrewup" instead of " auto correct " took me two years to get mine set right ! laughing6-hehe laughing6-hehe laughing6-hehe

On to the finishing stage.

I still need to put the fretwire in on this thing, but I need to clean the fret slots out first because I got some glue in them. In the meantime I'll be spraying finish on the headstock and box. I originally was going to do tru-oil but figured i could just use spray laquer because i liked the look better. I had enough leftover in the budget anyhow.

I've got lots of little things to do like adding a heel-cap, making a truss rod cover, finishing the bridge, etc. But it's coming together nicely. I'm really excited about this one.

I wish I could be relieved that the deadline was push. But this guitar is going to my brother as my secret santa gift and we are celebrating it during Thanksgiving... doh!

I looks great so far. I'm curious about the horizontal alignment of the rosette and will be interested to see it all together.

Is that weird, to see the bracing pattern after spraying the sealer. Hard to tell from subsequent photos...did that go away once spraying the nitro?

I would say it is a bit strange, it's the first time I've seen it. It might have had something to do with the temp/humidity, but I can't be sure. After I let the sealer dry I wiped it really good with naptha, hit it with some 600 grit sandpaper, wiped again, sprayed and the anomaly was gone.

I've got about 3 or 4 coats of nitro on it now and there is no evidence of that strange pattern is there anymore

Looks like your sealer blushed. The braces telegraphing is because the areas with braces don't change temp as fast as the thin wood areas. Though I can't explain why it happens, I have had it happen to me when the wood was at a cool temp, warm temp, and hot temps and the nitro was stored in the same room. Probably a humidity issue in the area. I don't really know, but I do know that nitro will blush with high humidity.

Very nice guitar! I think the stripy accents in the binding, the headstock face and the back inlays are very beautiful together. I also like the subtle fingerboard binding. Everything just works together so well.

I will admit my first thought when you posted the routing of the circle motif on the back: eek

Here are the recordings. I don't have stellar equipment for recording, so I apologize for the low quality. I suppose I should apologize for the crummy playing too.

Sweet guitar! I love how the headstock has the cutaway to match the body. Nice clean work and it sounds pretty good too! It certainly has the highs! Im sure in person you can hear more bass. I cant ever get any sort of bass sounds when I try to record anything.

Wow! It has a lot of voice for such a small guitar. I love it. I like the heckler in the audience on the last clip, too.
