Has anyone purchased any tonewood from grizzly.com?? I was curious if the quality is high. They have decent prices if the grade is accurate, and they supposedly supply to alot of builders.

That's a good call, just figured I should use cheap stuff on my first. I'm anticipating alot of mistakes.

I think that you will find that most, if not ALL, of the sponsors will have something in your price range to get you going (it just may not be listed on our sites). Just let anyone of us know what you are looking for and the price range if you don't want to pay for the top end stuff and I am sure we can fix you up.

About a year ago, I bought some of the Wild grain rosewood, and a sitka top for one of my projects. I was very happy with both. If you are considering the wild grain Rosewood keep in mind that it is a bear to bend because of the wavy grain, but once finished ,it was really nice.
I have also purchased some of their herringbone purfling, and a rosette. I was happy with that purchase also.
I consider Grizzly to be a good vendor, and have had no complaints.

I've bought several sets of Grizzly's 'AAA' EIR and was happy with the quality. They sent material with good color and straight grain. Actually the owner of that company posts under the name of Papa grizzly on one of the woodworking forums. He does take the time to listen and respond to comments on his products. Can't remember which forum it was right now... it's late; must... sleep...

Check the opportunity grade rosewood in the January sale at Allied Lutherie:
$30 each at qty=3+, $24 each at qty=10+ for Steel string size...
$27 each at qty=3+, $22 each at qty=10+ for classical/OM

I bought ten sets last year when it was on sale and was pleasantly surprised with the wood for the money. Then it was $18 a set for classical/OM, but it went really quick which is why they raised the price I'm sure. It's definitely not AAA, lots of color variation, some wider grain, pinholes, etc... Pretty interesting looking sets, every set is distinct. I'm going to try to use up most of it before I move on to the better stuff in my wood stash. Here's a back from one I'm working on for the luthierforum buildoff.

Alot of the sponsers here have a specials or bargin section
I just got some maple and spruce for a steal of a price from blue spirit tonewood. I try to use OLF sponsers when ever possible
