Hi all,

Thought I would post a couple pix from the Stephen Bennett concert here in Toronto last night, sponsored byt the Toronto Fingerstyle Association. I brought along some guitars as usual since I sponsor the TFG, including the Dragonfly multiscale and my first Baritone. After the soundcheck, while I had the guitar out, Stephen said he would play it thru the house mics and PA, so I could here it - well of course I cant play anywher near like him, nor with hs impecable touch. While he was playing, I asked him if he played baritone, (DUH !!) and he said sure, did you you bring one of those too ??? Before I even got it out of the case he asks if he can play it tonight - well OK

So he played 3 tunes on the bari, of course a couple of which I dont know the names of, but they were originals, the other a cover of a Shame Shame Shame by Aretha. The one original was a std guitar piece which he figured would work out well on bari, and sounded absolutely amazing - almost cello like in parts.

All in all, an amazing evening - get out to see him if you EVER get the chance. The harp guitar tunes KILLED.

I saw Stephen here in Denver a couple of years ago. He was just awesome, and a really nice guy too! Congrats on getting your guitars into his hands. Hope that generates some sales for you!

Wow, congratulations Tony! I saw him here in stockholm this autumn, and he is just so great. He had been to japan just before this show(small audience ca 40 people) and wasnt clear on if we could understand his english, so in the beginning he just played and it was fantastic! Later on , when he understood that we speak fairly good english in sweden, he started to tell stories aroud the tunes, and that was just amazing. What a great guy, he pplayed for like 2,5 or 3 hours, it was just such an experience. We are not spoiled with great fingerstylists here, so this was truly oneof a kind.

Again congrats, Tony.

Cool Tony.

To think I was at a Robbie Burns dinner last night listening to bag pipe music and ironically a 5-min drive from where Bennett was playing..

Carlton ... Yes I did .. I traded a couple emails with Stephen as it was fairly busy afterwards with myself talking guitars with others, and Stephen signing a hundred or so CD's for people - so in his own words - " I completely loved that guitar".

Thats good enough for me !!!!TonyKarol38741.51125

Tony--did you take the next step (ask the next question)?
"Then, may I build one for you?"
Or better yet, "Would you like to buy that one?"

Hoping you make a sale,
Steve

Stephan is considering it - like most not so really famous musicians, its a lot to outlay for another guitar - he doesnt own a true bari, he has a dread set up as one and he says it does a pretty good job.

I had another famous musician who shall remain nameless try the bari in his studio for 3 weeks, and thought it was amazing - tour stuff and other things came up and he has never got back in touch. I was surprised he didnt keep it. But then I wouldnt have had it to show Stephen ... but then another person showed up on Sunday and bought a 00 I had - so it all works out sometimes anyway !!!

Ahhh .. musicians and their decisions, decisions. Oh, and their wife's input too !!!! (read Financial planner)
