I just got the tailpiece for the doubleneck project from the machine shop. In a word, they did a fantastic job. I had a little bit of sanding to do before I put it in the tumbler to matte the finish before anodizing.

I want to give a shout out to Brian Hess, and the folks at Astro Machine Works, http://www.astromachineworks.com, whose bid was several times less than other proposals. They were great to work with. I highly recommend them.

Alas, I won't post pictures until the whole project is done. I deliberately didn't have it anodized until it gets fitted to the body so there would be no risk of getting it scratched. There is a possibility of an article, so in deference to the publisher I can't post pictures. Rest assured, the part exists much to my relief.
