Hi all,
I've decided that I'm going to have a go at winding my own pickups, but in the true nature of most of us I don't want to do things by halves, so I've decided that as well as winding them I want to make as much of the structure as I can, I've worked out, I think, how to make covers for them where necessary but I also want to make the flat work for them.
The problem I'm having is not being able to find the standard sizes of these in a format I can work with. I'm in the UK so work mainly in metric, I can to an extent work in imperial but only in fractions I.e 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 etc. I get totally lost when we start in decimal inches.
Does anyone know of any diagrams or charts of the flatworm in metric?

All you have to do to convert thousands of an inch to metric is multiply the imperial value by 25.4
This will give you the metric equivalent value. For example:-

1/2" = 0.500" x 25.4 = 12.7mm

If you want to convert metric to inches, you multiply the metric value by 0.039
This will give you the imperial equivalent value. For example:-

13mm x 0.039 = 0.507"

Doh... How stupid am I? Thanks for that, it really hasn't crossed my mind, I got so caught up in the search for mm that I just never stopped to think.

...or just type "0.5 inches in mm" in google and it does it for you. Works for almost any conversion you can think of, no third party websites needed. Also handy for quick corrency conversions using standard codes (i.e. 100 USD in GBP provides the conversion).
