Hello all. I was just wondering what would be a ball park figure if someone wanted to farm out the finish on an instrument... Say, nitro or catalyzed poly... TIA...

You might contact Addam Stark (check the memberlist). He could give you a firm number. Most might be hesitant to post that information on a public forum such as this.

Tony Ferguson is another person that you might check with. He is very good too.

You know Alain I'm sure there is people in Canada who do this. I know Adam and Tony do great work because I have seen there stuff around the forum, but I think you could end up with a bit of a hassle shipping guitars back and forth across the boarder. I don't know maybe it is not that big of a deal.

I once thought I read somewhere that Linda Manzer had someone finishing her guitars for her. You might try sending her and email, if nothing else she could probably point you in the direction of someone who could do it. My guess is that in some of the big cities there has got to be someone doing this. I’m just guessing that it would be cheaper if you could find someone in Canada. I could be wrong.

If you do find someone be sure to let us know. I'm happy finishing my own or I would look myself.

Josh
