That's just awesome Dan. Love the bridge. The Zebrawood looks incredible with that maple.... Sound familiar? Very well done. Can't wait to see the next... Cheers!

Thanks for your explanations Daniel, i was only asking that because that shape looked strangely familiar to the one on my Ibanez dread, less pointy than yours actually, perhaps Ibanez people were inspired by Washburn bridges ? here's a pic

The guitar looks great, so do the bridge and bracing.
Daniel, how do you like the zebrawood/cedar combo? I have a set of
zebrawood with which I intent to build a WRC topped OM. Some people have
compared zebrawood to IER, do you feel the same?

Beautiful work Daniel. I love the combinations of wood and the bridge is inspiring.

Laurent;
I didn't do any weight comparisons between the Zebrawood & EIR, but they have a similar "feel". Zebrawood isn't oily like Rosewood & you need to be carefull planing & scraping. I found that a scraper could tear the early wood unless it is really sharp.
I dug in with the corner of a plane iron once while leveling the back strip & it took a few minutes to repair the damage. You can see in the pic that I used lots of extra heavy side braces to prevent cracking & to pull out some of the cupping that happened in the bender.
The pores are bigger & more open than EIR. Count on two filling sessions & a fair amount of leveling.
I'm really pleased with the appearance. This stuff just shimmers once the finish is on.

That's a gorgeous guitar, Daniel! Although what's so 'sorta' about the 'jumbo' I'm not sure. Looks like a straight-up Jumbo to me!

Daniel,
Thanks for the follow-up pics and dimensions. You've done some nice clean work.

I'm starting my Zebrawood build soon. I'll keep you posted if you're interested.

Very nice, Daniel. I like the rosette, too.

i rather like the bridge too; it's very similar to my own design!

i was trying not to be too much like guild's design when i put the flare on the ends of the wings.

Thanks again Guys!
John K; The sound is pretty distinctive, the trebles are developing really well as it gets played more. The bass was nice from the get-go. It's definitely not shy. A friend played her for a while today & I was very pleased. Very clean & well articulated, without the distracting overtones present in my last Cedar guitar. I think a fairly thick top & light bracing makes a difference with Cedar.
Bruce; Yes, please keep us posted. I'm beginning to think that Zebrawood is a bit underrated. It's impossible to tell from one guitar, but it seems to have the brightness of EIR & the depth of Mahogany or Koa.
I'm building a second (cutaway this time) with EIR & Engelmann. It'll be interesting to hear the difference.

Looks great, congrats. I for one like the reamer, if you hook up the B string to it you can use it as a B bender while you are reaming it.
BTW I really like the headstock.
