I agree with the country singer. Why should we worry over putting their exact logo on the guitar. Craig can get it looking great without having to use the logo for his inlay pattern.

I say just finish it up and then take a vote. If it is finished without anyone's specific logo we can always change who we want to donate it to, right?

If it's going to be work related to medical fields, etc.. I need the headstock and fretboards to work with.
I'll say it again....why do we need their logo? We have a great inlay artist who is going to do inlay work on this instrument. This is a great opportunity for him to do something artistic that will reflect the mission of St Jude's. Why are we getting all bent out of shape over this?????
I brought up the logo thing for two reasons: first, I was told to get the logo for inlay purposes and couldn't for the previously mentioned reasons. Second, I noticed a distinct drop in enthusiasm when I reported this fact. That is why I wanted there to be no mistake as to what St. Jude's did or did not say regarding their possible involvement. That is why I brought it up again.

Regards, Steve

My issue wasn't that they said no. It was ** how ** they said no. As I recall you posted part of their note regarding the request.

Frankly, I still have a problem with this. I deal with the "logo police" all the time, and I understand the issues, but I also understand that this is more corporate silliness than anything else. All they would have to do is get final sign off on any sketches and all would be right with the world.

They could even involve their ad agency. I am sure they would be a great help for ideas and creative starters.

They just didn't want to bother with it -- it is kind of a hassle and certainly more work for them. So by that fact, I think they should not be entitled to the generosity of the forum.

But again, this is only my opinion and I know it is somewhat harsh.

I just think that there are tons and tons and tons of NPOs out there that are doing good work and grasping for any straws they can to survive. To get the brush of like this sort of rubs me the wrong way.
