I think it might help Lance and Michael if we all post our pictorial and verbal notes on this project as we go. Lance can monitor it for pics to add to his webpages on the effort. At the same time, Michael can monitor our progress without having to ask what's up.

I'll start it off with a note on top selection and glueup.

Here is the Sitka top after jointing and joining. Using a combination of gobar and taped pressure for pulling the joint together. This top has a really lively sound when tapped or even rubbed lightly. This was done on 2-10-06.

Michael, the Abalone made it. I understand this is the replacement set for the Charity Build from Dave Rector. This is the first abalone I've seen from DePaule Supply and I must say it is gorgeous.

1/8th inch 4.92 Inside Diameter, One circle Plus 1 inch it says. Depaule Supply is located in Eugene Oregon and has a website: www.luthiersupply.com

Dave Rector is an Oklahoma Luthier, located at Edmond Oklahoma. Webaddress is: www.rectorguitars.com Thanks Dave and Michael. Looking forward to putting this in. No teflon, so it's gonna be the old fashioned way, dry fit and glueup with purflings. Will get on it as soon as the purflings arrive.

Guess I have to start working now. Rims came today, mold came today. There's a question about linings that Lance and I are working out but once that is clear I'm a-crankin'. Back is being joined as we speak. Souldn't be in my shop too long.

Paul, You got me worried now. I'm in the starting blocks. Monday was President's Day, yippee, no mail. So when the purfling and plan arrive I'm on it too. Good luck on your end.

Tiny note of request, can you wrap that thing in a plastic bag for the trip to Arkansas when it's my turn? I'll let it acclimatize a few days at 45% before glueup. thanks.
