Andy, seriously, did you quit your day job to build beyouteefoule guitars like this one ? I think when i first read yer bio you were working as a pediatric amnesthesiologist and since i discovered the OLF (dec 25th) you been showin'up a guitar almost every week? Man, i might be the champ at posting quick but when it comes to building my friend, yer the road runner ...... MEEP! MEEP!

Very nice, I LOVE 12 fret 000's, and that back is stunning. Where did you get the plans?

As far as the plans...
Well the first guitar I started with was a 000 12 fret kit from Stewmac. That
guitar was a piece of trash...because of my skills.
I saved the plans. The person this is for, had may requests as far as depth
of body, scale length, nut width, neck contour etc.
But the box is straight from the kit plans.

Andy

I got to say it again Andy Wow.......SUPER JOB just enough on the abalone with out going over board on a smallish guitar in part because you used a dark binding with a med dark back and side. Very good design cordnation

Serge.... I didn't quit my day job. I work 50-70 hours a week taking care of
kids at Childrens Hospital here in San Diego. I have always been someone
who goes all out with something. When I am building I really get into a
groove and often I will work on several at once. Not complete guitars, but
when I am making a neck blank for example, I might make 3 since I am
getting it all set up. So when time to work on the next guitar, the neck
blank may already be done!!!
Most importantly, I have an understanding wife....She is also an artist, so she
loves to be in her studio. So when she is in hers, I am in mine.
It was a big mistake (maybe fortunate) bringing my first build in to work.
Many people at work played it and I got FIVE commissions. I am thrilled and
overwhelmed.
Andy

Well done.

Thanks for the explanations Andy! As Hesh is for me, you're truly an inspiration for the newbie that i am!

Now i can't trade any guitar with you so how about trading signatures ? You are no longer a beginner, my turn now okay ?

Nice job, andy. Maybe I should stop by and have a look in person when I'm in San Diego. Very nice.
What's the finish?
