I admit, I'm a huge acoustic fan. But I love Strats. Used to own one. Now I wanna build one. So, I'm asking for input, plans, templates, necks, etc. I do not want to carve a neck. If appropriate, I want to get a nice swamp ash blank from Hibdon and a nice top plate from wherever. I have the tools, but no experience with electrics.

Your help and experience is greatly appreciated.

Mike

Mike,
With Brian's plans and this tutorial, you have everything you need.

Well I suppose you'll need a few parts...

In that case, do you know about Warmoth necks? They make high quality licensed Strat necks in a wide range of woods and various neck profiles. http://www.warmoth.com/

"I do not wanna carve a neck".
Come on, Mike.
Go ahead and carve the neck.
Easier than an acoustic!

Strat and Tele necks are a snap to carve:
No headstock joint, no heel, and no pesky neck to body joint.
If you use a 2-way rod and place it under the fretboard, no skunk stripe is needed.
And, you can use a normal fretboard radius.
Go for it!
