Well,
I was not thinking when I put a veneer on the back of a headstock.
The headstock was made from a neck cutoff so the stringers are visible.
I think my only option is to remove the rear veneer to expose the stringer.
I wonder if the headstock would warp with veneer only on the top side?
I could put a veneer along the outside edge and hope it would look OK after the neck is carved.
Leave it as-is?
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Dan

Looks like the grain of the headstock is vertical, so I don't think you have a worry about veneer on the back only. Ideally, a veneer on the edge would go on first, back veneer second. How about do the veneering, and then bind the headstock front and back, as well, Dan? Or listen to someone (everyone) who knows more than me!

Thanks Alex,
I heated and pulled the rear veneer off, leaving veneer on top only.
Now it looks like I meant to do it this way.
I should probably plan the next one before hacking away at it.
