Lance and I have been kicking around an OLF get together
for a few years now. This is just a feeler to see if anyone is interested. Any ideas are welcome. I know Newport Festival is in August but not sure of the dates.

I love the idea, but I don't have the time or money to do it this year. Maybe if it becomes a semi-regular thing I'll be able to make it another year.

There'll be a bunch of us who are members of the New England Luthiers
group at the Newport Festival. It would be great to set aside an evening at
some point for an OLF/NEL get together. We'd probably be able to get the
old country singer Don Williams out for that!

Keep in mind that several of us are exibiting at the Montreal Jazz Festival July 6-9. Not that that should in any way impead your decision to have this get together, but that might be a weekend to avoid.

I'd love to, but it ain't gonna happen. Isn't GAL in July? Or is that June?

Would be fun if the Euro folks could get together/meet, too; I've met Russ a few times (since, y'know, he lives 10 minutes away on a bike) and I'm in the UK quite a bit, so who knows...

I voted Labor day other location. Just because I would love to attend and there is no way I can due July of August and the Far East is a bit of an issue but could be worked around.MichaelP38777.5364467593

I'd like to be able to meet everyone from the OLF, Paul, i'll check with Alain if we could share the gas to meet you guys in Montreal, that'd be kind of cool, for the one in Newport though, i would probably have to wait for another year, money wise.

How many of you guys will make it to Montreal Jazz fest ?Serge Poirier38777.5396875

End of June, Mattia. Does this mean that you are planning on attending the convention in Tacoma? That would be so cool....

Wow a lot of OLFers are showing at the Newport Guitar Festival. The fact that it coincides with the Folk Festival (you know the on Dylan made famouse by playing an ELECTRIC guitar <gasp>) makes it a very cool opportunity. Selfishly, I like the location too.

I hear he's retired from singing and luthe-ing...

Who'd a thunk it?

How about Bruce Dickey's house? It's more centrally located.

I really wish I could, but short of a miracle re: scheduling, it ain't gonna happen. I'll be smack in the middle of my internships. However, I'll try to make the first GAL/ASIA I can that I can get some time off for. Probably be another 2 years, though...

Here's another vote for Florida in Jan. or Feb.
All you guys up in the snow could come down here
and thaw out!    Orlando maybe? This is a great
idea!! Could you imagine an OLF jam session ?

OK so maybe this poll should have been who's interested first. Then decide on a time and place later.

Serge it's a long way. Fort Erie is at the Peace Bridge and about 25 miles or 40 kilometers from Niagara Falls
