So my dream guitar is a '58 / '59 Les Paul Junior double cut in TV Yellow. I found a replica body and neck on eBay and sold by Eden Guitars. The fret wires and nut looks okay to my untrained eyes. I'm wondering though if there is a slight twist to the neck and if so, do I need to return it. Photos posted below. I know this isn't handcrafted work but any feed back would be appreciated.

Yes I'd send it back.
IMO the neck is everything.
I can take a junk body and a great neck and build a great playing/sounding guitar.
I can't take a junk neck and do that.

Yikes! Yes, return it. A good neck is essential on any guitar. On an electric, the body might not come out as beautiful as you hoped or your "super cool" new body design turns out to be an ergonomic disaster, but if it has a good playable neck you'll get use and enjoyment out of it.

I should add that making your own neck is not that hard. OTH, my first build I bought a neck from Warmoth and built the body around it (also inspired on a Les Paul Jr.) Not a faithful reproduction. Warmoth necks are bolt on and don't have the long tenon (or at least were fifteen years ago when I built this thing). Still, they are great necks and made for a very satisfying guitar to own and play.

I've seen guitar necks that look twisted, but aren't. Might be a trick of the eye. Sometime a judicious level job can make it playable. Truly - it's hard to tell exactly without a straight string on the neck for comparison, but you'd have to mate the two parts and partially assemble and string it up to see. If you're really worried, send it to me for disposal.....

Its on its way back to Eden as I write this. To Eden's credit they agreed that the neck appeared twisted in the photos and suggested I send it back for an exchange.

Regrouping and getting a Precision Guitars kit with '58 style Double Cut body and a neck made specifically for that body instead of the Eden kit on eBay. The folks at Eden have been exceedingly easy to work with but I think the precsion product fits my needs better.
