Does anyone know where I can get a set of plans for a Martin 00-42. John Hall maybe?

The 00-42 ? Okay this is not that common. I can help you out to a degree as this is somthing that you would see in 12 fret more than 14. What you looking for?

John,

I'm looking for 12 fret 00-42 plans. I've found some technical information, but no plans. Thanks.

John,

Do you have plans specifically for the different styles?
For instance, is a saet of plans avaliable for a Dreadnaught and also a D-45? Curious. If so, I'd love plans for some different stuff.

What I do is I can take a base plan IE the Dreadnought and to that let you know the details. The guitar itself is the same shape.
Mostly the pearl inaly deatails. most of you people know enough to wing it. You can actually download specs of the martin site

Jimmy,
I may not be correct on this but I understood that the "00 shape - 12 fret to the body" aspect of Martin guitars would be the same basic size & shape ... whether the 00-28 or 00-42 or 00-45, etc. The numerical part of the designation would be different woods, pearl, details, etc.

If this assumption is correct (please correct me if not!) then a plan for a 12-fret 00-28 would be the same as a 00-42 or 00-45. There are books & web sites with pictures out there that can speak to the various models' trim details. The 14-fret to the body models are entirely another matter, supposedly.

Skip,

You are correct in that a 12-fret 00 body is the same for a style 28,42, or 45. The problem is I can't find a plan for any of them. I can find pictures and technical info. (dimensions, etc.). If I have to, I'll scan a picture into autocad, trace over it and do the best I can. I'd just rather have an actual plan. Maybe that's just not in the cards.
