Bob, Though i call myself "The Bear", my middle name is anxiety and i can understand why we get like this sometimes, i always have to remind me of slowing down, to relax and enjoy every passing minute cuz they really are precious, here and now, i have the power to decide what's important!

Seems like what's important for you now is to take some time off, enjoy beauty when and wher you can, time not to perform but just be, good selfih time. I don't know you personnaly but i feel you're the kind of guy who wants to please everyone with the work you do. Now it's time to really please yourself, you deserve it!

Rest and comeback in great shape!

Your friend Serge

Serge thanks for the advice my friend. You sure have added some spark to this forum. Every morning when I sit with my cup of coffee reading the posts I picture you eating your bowl of Canadian Corn flakes.
Glad your here!
Hey Bob I used to run too and my knees also went from the impact. I bought a rowing machine and have been using it 3-4 times a week for about 10 years now.

I watch the news while I row which is not recomended since I always get upset watching the news..... You will never get very far with a rowing machine (in terms of distance) and it's not easy keeping the ash tray velcroed on the frame but it will make you healthier and feel better.

Now I am waiting for Andy to jump on me for the ash tray remark
Hesh I have a nice workout room that used to be be my son's bedroom. treadmill, bike, weight machine, and TV. Just need to get my butt up there and use it. Used to row when I was in high school.

Glad to hear it wasn't your heart Bob!

Better sit back and take it easy for a while. I'm gonna need some of your zooty binding soon. At least I think I am gonna get this new shop set up soon.
I can relate Bob,

The good thing is, your heart checked out OK. It is likely that YOU have a GOOD heart. Although any of us could have told you that. Nothing like stating the obvious.
Stay well my friend!

Hey great idea about the showcase!
We should call it "the candy store".
What do you all think?

You don't have to be a DR. to attest to Bob's fine heart! And although "The Candy Store" is good, I'm thinking maybe, "Luthier's Showcase"...what do you think Brock?

Relax, Bob. No one needs wood fast enough to risk your health over.

Hey, Andy
Does the tendency for anxiety attack increase with age? Things make me anxious, now, that didn't use to bother me.
I'm pretty laid back (I'm pretty when not laid back, too), but I have had a couple of anxiety attacks in the past two or three years. Might just be 37 years of teaching teenagers in public school.

Bob, I can almost relate to your scare. I was having chest pains that finally drove me into the doc's office. The conclusion was no heart trouble--just arthritis. What a relief! But yours took the next step of imitation. Bet that was scary.
Well, what everyone else has said--I'm glad you are still with us, and wish you many more years of happy wood prospecting.

Steve

Hey Bob; I intimately know how scary a full blown panic attack can be. Sometimes they come out of the blue & you're convinced that "THIS IS IT!". Some sleep & a little change in perspective & you'll soon be right as rain.
Enjoy your break... You deserve it.
Our best wishes are with you.

Wow I am overwhelmed by the responce. Just woke up from a 2 hour nap under my wifes careful watch. She kept checking on me. I feel like:

Well maybe not quite like that but had a nice restful day.

Thanks again guys.

Very happy to see you're okay, and I'll echo what everyone else said; take a few day's break from wood cutting and shipping! But I'll add, go make yourself something. Make a business card holder of some snakewood, or make a picture frame for a special photo from some really cool off-cuts I'm sure your shop is littered with. Simple woodworking makes the mind feel gooder..

Now, what was the wood that drew you to Hamilton in the first place? Was it worth the trip? <g>
