I had a bad start to my day, at 3.00am my 90 year old mother, who lives with us, woke me up to say she had a bad pain in her chest. A quick call to the emergency services and within 5 minutes and ambulance with two paramedics had arrived (I think they must have beamed in) and gave her a 12 lead exam. They decided that she ought to go to casualty, just in case, so off we went and spent the next 5 hours having 12 leads heart monitor and blood tests and Chest X-rays. Anyway, the pain went, no heart attack and at 9.00am we were at home. Phew!

Anyway, an hour after we got home the door rang and a man delivered a parcel from Brad Goodman. Tell us what it contained I can hear you cry. OK I will, two absolutely killer sets of Cuban Mahogany (you kinda knew that didn't you). Well you can keep all your BRW and Macassar, Blackwood and Koa, this is the King and Queen of tonewoods. From being a bit down in the early hours Brad Goodman has made me a happy chappy. Thanks Brad, great service.

One set is going on to an OM with Euro top as hopefully my main performance guitar. The other set? Well, I have this crazy idea to build a cuban mahogany classical, there is precedent from the great man himself (no not Joshua)so I might try it. Whatever happens it'll sound like a guitar.

Oh, I guess you want to see a picture.

Colin I am glad to hear your mom is OK. I sure can relate after 2 EKG's this week and a trip to the cardioligist in about 45 min. Cuban mahogany is gorgeous. Sure is the King.

Since you are the king of mahogany, I am sure you are ecstatic.
I recently opened a box from Brad and had the same thing. Killer Mahog.
Must have been from the same tree.

Colin,
I am glad to hear that your mother is OK.
I can't wait to see a guitar you make out of that Cuban mahogany.
Andy,
Yes, your set came from the same tree as Colins

Colin
My 85 year old mother lived with us for eight years. I sure made plenty of trips to the ER, also, so I can relate. Thank God your mom is okay.
And that's some beautiful wood. Brad has a beautiful stash in that Cuban Mahogany. Nice score!

Glad to hear your Mom is ok also. I can second the props to Brad. I received a set of the cuban mahogany the other day as well and it is really nice. Not sure what to build with it yet
